PHILADELPHIA (November 3, 2026) — As polls close across the country, Verified Voting’s President & CEO Pamela Smith released the following statement reflecting on widespread reports of orderly, safe and uninterrupted Election Day operations:

“Amid intense political scrutiny and pre-election anxieties, Election Day so far has proven resilient, thanks to dedicated nonpartisan professionals, advance preparation, mitigation plans, and key safeguards like paper ballots,” said Pamela Smith, Verified Voting’s President and CEO.

“So far, millions of Americans cast their ballots, in person and by mail, safely and mostly without interference. Today’s relatively smooth election administration demonstrates that overall the guardrails are holding, and a massive amount of planning and pre-work to prevent problems and ensure voters can keep voting has paid off.

“As the polls close and the focus shifts to the post-election period, we must let election officials complete the careful, multi-step work of tabulating remaining ballots, reconciling records, and conducting post-election audits to verify that every eligible vote is certified accurately.”
