PHILADELPHIA (August 25, 2026) — In response to the Supreme Court’s decision clearing the way for part of President Donald Trump’s executive order to restrict mail-in voting, Verified Voting’s President & CEO Pamela Smith released the following statement:
“Attempting to force administrative overhauls while ballots are actively going to print is a recipe for disaster. Running elections requires rigorous, long-term schedules that are planned and set in motion months in advance.
“Voters must not be disenfranchised by the Administration’s backdoor attempts to disrupt election processes and undermine the basic mechanics of voting. Elections are run at the state and local level with election officials already working around the clock to ensure that the midterms run smoothly and that every eligible vote counts.”
